This study was done to investigate the main factors among various isokinetic strengths in hip, knee and ankle joint which contribute to the jumping performance in middle school girls handball players and the relationship among these variables containing muscle mass and bone mineral density in subjects¡¯ dominant foot. Total twenty adolescent handball players were volunteered to isokinetic strength test((Biodex Co. USA) and jumping performance test and bone mineral density and muscle mass. The results were as follows. 1. The jumping record(cm) and the jumping record multiplied by weight(kgm) in dominant foot was significantly higher than in comparative foot(p<.001). 2. The significant differences of isokinetic strength between two foot were found in peak torque(p<.05-.01) and muscle power(p<.01). 3. The jumping performance(kgm) had a significant correlation with bone mineral density(r=.495, p<.05). 4. The variable having the most significant correlation with jumping performance was the peat torque of knee extension at 180 ¡Æ/sec and 240 ¡Æ/sec(r=.713 and .708), and followed by peak muscle power(r= .631 and .636). These results suggest that the eccentric isokinetic training of knee joint muscle groups at high angular speed would be helpful to improve jumping performance.
